  If there was an option for ZERO stars that is what I would select. The extreme lack of customer service from the staff at Red Umbrella Inn is disgraceful. My fiance and I had to cancel a room prior to a wedding because we would be out of the country and the service we received surrounding this cancellation was pathetic. We both work in the customer service industry and I also do a lot of work with hotels for group bookings - I have never been treated so poorly. I understand cancellation policies but I have zero tolerance for people and managers that do not respect the customers. Customers always come first. The serious lack of communication from Michael, their manager, as well as other staff members was appalling. We waited months and weeks at various times to receive phone calls.... and guess what? No calls! So we would have to call them back each time. In the end their was no solution or compromise made - also very disappointing. There was no effort made to ensure the issues were resolved, let alone a satisfied or happy (ha!) customer. Disgraceful.

  Firstly, I am not one to submit reviews, especially negative ones but the lack of service has been extremely disappointing. We booked this location for a wedding 2 months in advance and canceled 1 week out. We were told that if they have a 2 week cancellation policy but if they can sell the same room within the week, we would be fully refunded. I heard nothing all week so I called day of the wedding and was told they were indeed sold out and there was no vacancy, essentially meaning we were to be refunded. After noticing the charge on my VISA, I called back and asked why. It took them almost a month to get back to me after I tried to call again and was then told that they are small family run business, leading to longer potential wait times. The manager (Mike) said he would look into it further and call me back in 24 hours- its been 3 more weeks and the full charge still remains without a phone call or explanation. Being a small run, family business is no excuse for poor or non-existent service. in fact as a small run family business (I own one too), your customer service should exceed that of any large chain franchise! Word of mouth and repeat business is all you have! Frustrating and disappointing is the only way to explain their experience.
